A rum born from mutual support between growers and producers
The “maitres-canniers” as we like to call them, are the backbone of Papa Rouyo Rum. Our collective approach promotes each respective planters’ and producers’ savoir-faire.
The rum is the fruit of their love and dedication to the cane they have cultivated for generations: the expertise that has been handed down from father to son.
The growers are fully involved in the production of Papa Rouyo Rum. They are committed to environmentally friendly farming methods and respect for the earth. That’s why the practice of hand-cutting the cane into long stalks has been preserved.
Papa Rouyo preserves the earth by painstakingly cutting the cane under eco-friendly conditions, stalk by stalk.
The long lengths of canes are then transported to the mill to be immediately crushed, ensuring the extraction of the freshest sugar rich juice. From there the juice is fermented, distilled and placed in barrels, located in the cellars of Goyave distillery.

Papa Rouyo is committed to the traceability of its rums from cane to bottle.
This concern for transparency is reflected both in the choice of raw materials and in the various stages of production.
